PACE Trek 2008

runnerPACETREK NEWS: “PACE” is an acronym for Promoting Active Children Everywhere. On April 28 our elementary students will begin a “virtual trek”. During P.A.C.E. Trek 2008 teams of children will “virtually” race Paul 620 miles across Montana, USA from April 28-May 15. Our elementary team is registered and our team name is GEMS of the Alps.

Here is an e-mail from Paul:

“Dear Ms. Mitchell,
I’ve received your free online registration via www.pacetrek.com. Thank you for signing up team “GEMS of the Alps” of Garmsich Elementary School to take part in P.A.C.E. Trek 2008! It appears that you will have 78 children involved in the trek. We currently have about 7,000 students from various locations around the world signed up to participate in this inaugural P.A.C.E. Trek… from Malaysia to Maine, Australia to Alaska, Germany to Georgia, Italy to Iowa, and so many places in between”.

Paul wants to remind students that it is not a race between them. They are a part of a “team” on a virtual trek.

You will be able to track our progress on this map when we begin on April 28.
