Wonderful Wednesday Awards and US Ski Team - Our skiers and snowboarders joined their instructors and parents on the final Wonderful Wednesday to be recognized and celebrate the Wonderful Wednesday program. Read Across America Day! - The National Education Association annually sponsors Read Across America. This event focuses on motivating children to read, in addition to helping them master basic skills. Garmisch ES/MS celebrated on March 2nd, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Many parents and community members volunteered their time to read to our students. Thanks!- pictures
Bartering Project in 3rd and 4th Grade -On Tuesday afternoon, 3 March, the third and fourth grade students participated in a "Bartering Day". Students learned about different types of commerce/trade in Social Studies and that one of the important early ways of trading was through the bartering system. Students brought in anything they wished to barter with their classmates: used toys, books, coloring books, cards, games, art supplies, comics, accessories, dolls, doll clothes, Legos, odds and ends. After all, one kid's trash is another kid's treasure! pictures
Project Based Learning - 5th Grade - Our fifth graders having been exploring simple machines using legos. Students love the hands on activities and are building more and more complex machines. pictures
